Junior Programmer Specializing in PHP / MySQL / Javascript / HTML & CSS

Job description:

We have a 6 month contract position for a new or recent graduate who is passionate about programming in a web environment.

In this role you will work closely with our senior programmer, learning how to install and customize our core web software applications in a LAMP environment, utilizing your knowledge of xHTML / CSS web coding and PHP / MySQL.

We are looking for a smart, agile person who loves a challenge and who understands that a job well done is the minimum viable specification.

You must be comfortable working with object-oriented code, complex relational databases yet also have a flair for designing attractive, easy to use software programs.

The ideal candidate will also enjoy working in a team environment and can communicate effectively with clients, conveying complex technology concepts in plain language. A strong visual eye and ability to design attractive user interfaces will be a strong advantage.

Most importantly, you learn fast, work hard and fundamentally believe that excellence is the only standard worth achieving.

Qualifications:

• University Degree or college diploma in Computer Programming or related field
• Experience with PHP, MySQL and object-oriented programming (MVC/framework experience an added asset)
• Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects with compressed timelines
• Self-directed worker able to deliver tested, bug free code to schedule
• Experience with: hand-coding validated HTML templates, Mobile and Responsive design, JavaScript, PHP
• Strong team player, work well with others in a collaborative environment
• Strong English communication skills, French an asset
• Willingness to learn new skills and emerging tools
