We are currently looking for Personal Support Workers in York Region. Specifically Newmarket, Holland Landing, Aurora, Queensville, Nobleton, Schomberg, King City.
In a home care setting you will assist clients with routine activities of daily living and personal care. You will be responsible to provide home care to clients in the areas of:
Quality of Life: relieving caregivers, teaching clients how to live independently, advocating for client independence, encouraging clients to try things to increase independence, playing games, talking, reading.
Activities of Daily Living: waking clients up, bathing and grooming, dressing, assisting with medication, toileting, shopping and meal preparation, eating, housekeeping and laundry, monitoring client status, ambulation and transporting client.
Qualifications:
- PSW Certificate or Equivalency
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification required
- Valid driver's license and access to a car is required
- Flexible to work weekends
- Experience working with the acutely ill, chronically ill or palliative clients is an asset
