QA TECHNICIAN

Newmarket food production plant is looking for a qualified QA Technician.  Successful applicant must have SQF Certification

Primary Responsibilities:

• Checking codes and weights of food batches
• Testing batches for pH, color, salt, viscosity and sensory conformance
• Holding and releasing product as required. Assure that product conforms to finishing product specification.  This will be accomplished by sensory evaluation, analytical testing and process plant observation
• Provide detailed written information relating to the quality of the product and process.
• Approve batch before it is processed
• Assist in set-up analytical programs for lab equipments. Gather samples and assist in testing products.
• Maintain and organize all QA testing records.
• Inspect transfer, mixing and processing equipment to ensure proper cleaning and quality practices.
• Perform testing on incoming ingredients per the ingredient sampling program
• Participate in sensory evaluation

Qualifications:

• SQF certification with 3-6 months experience working in a QA role
• Basic to intermediate math skills required
• Ability to effectively and accurately document and produce various reports
• Ability to address and resolve conflict and work safely in a food production environment
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required
• Excellent knowledge/understanding of HACCP, GMP’s, etc.
