Mechanical Assembler

Keswick based company is seeking full time Mechanical Assembler to assemble various farm and automotive equipment

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Familiar with the sequence of assembly and is able to assemble most sub-assemblies without direction or guidance
• Fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies and/or finished goods
• Has acquired knowledge of hydraulics and is able to assemble hydraulic lines without leakage and is able to trouble shoot and trace problems in hydraulic lines and electrical lines
• Is able to use hand held pneumatic or electrical tools to assemble the product
• Able to maintain the required pace of work in assembling the product, capable of planning tasks on an as needed basis to meet production schedule
• Is able to repair or fit parts of the product that require grinding or fitting
• Knows how to work from production schedules, where and how to expedite parts on production schedule
• Inspect finished products for proper function and safety guards
• Is responsible for the quality of her/her own work
• Knows safety procedures and works safely

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• 3-5 years previous experience in similar environment
• Completion of High School, some college/ vocational or technical training
• Must be mechanically inclined; knowledge in heavy equipment/ agricultural equipment an asset
• Prior knowledge of hydraulic and Electrical assembly an asset.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; not located on a bus route

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal working conditions for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50lbs. Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to, steel toe footwear, eye, ear and hand protection.
